Our client is a global leader in the field of stone-based architectural and landscaping solutions (e.g., fountains, water walls, pools). This family-owned European company maintains a strong international presence with projects and branches in Asia, Europe, and North America. Our client is a full-service provider – from design and project planning to production and fabrication to on-site installation – which makes them a trusted partner to its solid international customer base.

To help develop and achieve the next phase of the business expansion in North America, our client is recruiting a hands-on, dynamic, and experienced team leader who will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer to lead the US subsidiary. This position will require a team player with extensive experience within the construction industry – someone who has overseen architectural projects and has efficiently worked with and sold to/through architects, engineers, planners, contractors and subcontractors.

The location of this role is flexible (Tampa, FL is preferred).

Key responsibilities:

  • Actively manage the U.S. subsidiary’s P&L and provide guidance and leadership to the US team.
  • Review the company’s internal business operations.
  • Set clearly defined short- and long-term goals for the internal development of the US organization.
  • Prepare annual business operating plans and budgets.
  • Work closely with the Sales team in cultivating customer relationships to assess and identify new business opportunities.
  • Actively support project development activities. Interface with the construction team, including internal and external contractors, and ensure effective communication within the group.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans.
  • Serve as an agent for business improvements, new initiatives, policies, and processes.
  • Constantly evaluate the market situation, industry trends, technology trends and competition within the granite/stone construction, water feature, landscaping and/or related markets.
  • Interface regularly with the Company headquarters.
  • Represent the organization in important external business relationships.
  • Support and participate in local and global trade fairs, conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, or any related discipline is required; a graduate degree or MBA would be desirable.
  • Several years of leadership experience in sales, business development and project management with substantial experience in operations and general management is required.
  • Extensive experience within the construction industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience/Background in the natural stone and/or water feature industry would be a clear advantage.
  • Ability to effectively deal and work with architects, engineers, planning specialists, contractors/subcontractors.
  • Solid knowledge in project planning and implementation, risk management, material procurement, permitting, quality management and supplier management highly preferred.
  • Experience selling building/construction products as well as architectural projects would be highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining and establishing new business, as well as negotiating contracts and closing deals.
  • An existing network of industry contacts in relevant industries would be a strong advantage.
