Under the general supervision of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, the Chief Enrollment Officer must be equipped to actively advance UCLA's goals for access and diversity; develop and harness existing and emerging technologies to communicate, build relationships and effectively and efficiently administer a highly complex operation across multiple departments; serve as a dynamic and compelling representative of and spokesperson on behalf of UCLA; navigate challenging topics and freighted issues with great finesse; serve as a national and global leader on admission, equity, affordability and access; and lead the constant posing of data-based questions that explore and expose the decisions the unit makes and how these decisions play out. The Chief Enrollment Officer must be an outstanding leader and developer of people, and able to lead the next phase of enrollment at UCLA with vision, creativity and collaboration. Serve as a national voice on issues of importance within the UC system as well as locally, nationally and globally.

The Chief Enrollment Officer will oversee the offices of Undergraduate Admission, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement, Communication, Early Academic Outreach Program & BruinCorps, and Strategic Initiatives and Enrollment Planning.

Required/Preferred

Proven effectiveness and expertise in enrollment management and demonstrated ability to manage a large, complex organization at a higher education institution with a highly diverse staff and student body--including budgetary and strategic planning skills. Strong working knowledge of higher education admission recruitment, outreach, enrollment, financial aid, personnel, financial, and management practices and policies.

Ability to lead the enrollment management division with vision, courage, creativity with an entrepreneurial outlook and eye to new possibilities and emerging challenges.

Demonstrated active and proven commitment to and knowledge of diversity, equity, access and inclusion as critical components of academic excellence and student success; cultural competence with respect to issues across all dimensions of difference including socio-economic background, race and ethnicity, age, disability, gender expression, gender and sexual identity, national origin, culture and ideological beliefs.

Experience nurturing, motivating and empowering colleagues while providing hands-on support as needed. Excellent supervisory skills sufficient to oversee a large professional and administrative staff, including directors of Enrollment Management units.
