The Culpeper is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our skilled nursing group.

The CNA is responsible for providing direct care to residents under the direction of the Charge Nurse and to assist/perform activities of daily living with an emphasis on establishing and maintaining the highest level of resident independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grooming and bathing residents with low mobility
• Preparing each resident room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and toiletries
• Helping residents eat and take medications
• Ensuring regular meals are provided and proper medication dosages are administered
• Monitoring and reporting vitals and resident behavior to the nursing and medical staff
• Assisting residents with mobility needs, i.e. transferring them from a wheelchair to a bed
• Turning or adjusting residents in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort
• Exercising residents by helping them walk

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently licensed as a CNA in Virginia
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion
• Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills
• Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities
• Keen attention to detail
• In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations
• Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions
• Comfortable working with specific populations of patients, including elderly patients and those with special needs
• Physical strength and stamina
