NEEDED: CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTS - Extended Care

LOCATION: 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304

HOURS: Normal hours are twenty-four hours, 7 days per week

SCHEDULES:

• 8 Hour shifts: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; 3:30 PM - Mid-night; 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM,
• 12 Hour Shifts: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM; and 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• U.S. Citizen
• Have a minimum of 2 years recent experience.
• Current, full, active and unrestricted licensure as a nursing assistant in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the US or in the District of Colombia.
• Must have completed an accredited training course in nursing through the State of California
• Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Patient Care: 90% of the time involved is in direct patient care.

ADMINISTRATIVE: 10% of time not involved in direct patient care

Shall perform the following and always remain within their scope of practice/privilege:

• Functions as an integral member of the extended care team.
• Interfacing with patients, physicians, and family members in an extended care living center setting. Implement the plan of care demonstrating knowledge of the responsibilities of the RN and NA for all stages of care.
• Works in partnership with the health care team in implementing standards of care in accordance with the purpose, philosophy, and objectives of nursing, while being a positive team player.
• Supervise care given and services rendered in the community living center and hospice by other professional and non-professional staff.
• Responsible for maintenance, care and use of equipment used, applying principles of asepsis, therapeutic and technical knowledge to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Provides family and patient teaching.
