Certified Medication Aide

Our facility is looking for caring and compassionate Certified Med Aides (CMAs) who enjoy coming to work and are inspired to treat our residents like family. The Certified Med Aide will assist the professional nursing staff by preparing, administering, reporting, and recording residents’ medications and treatments.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Preparation, administration, reporting, recording and storage of non-controlled medication which includes oral meds, ophthalmic meds, nasal meds, optic meds and topical meds.
- Preparation, administration, reporting, recording and storage of controlled substances.
- Preparation and administration of PRN meds if needed with routine med pass. Proper recording, reporting to nurse, and follow-up recording in MAR inform charge nurse when and why PRN meds were given.
- Administer treatments to residents as assigned by charge nurse.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Completed Certified Medication Aide course.
- Certificate in good standing in State Registry.
- Insulin Certification preferred.
- First Aid Certification and CPR preferred.
