Job description

Central Sterile Technician is a trained individual who demonstrates competence in the decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of equipment and supplies for in-hospital use, is responsible for meeting the approved Standards of Care and Practice (Polices and Procedures), and promotes collaboration with other health care providers

Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies and equipment

Follow proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas

Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment

Decontaminating and sterilizing instruments, medical supplies and equipment

Following proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas

Monitoring biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment

Receives all soiled instrumentation and implements the appropriate decontamination process

Prioritizes and Organizes instrumentation and equipment and supplies
