Responsibilities
Under general supervision, assist in the set-up and breakdown of all in-house catered events and meetings including food, beverage, and equipment, when necessary. Responsible for maintaining Employee Lounge and designated kitchens areas throughout the Institute. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of EEI kitchens and staff break rooms, appliances, conference and meeting room tables and chairs. The Catering/Hospitality Assistant is also responsible for maintaining inventory of beverages, cleaning supplies, catering supplies, staff break room supplies, etc.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have:
- At least 2 years of food service experience, preferably in a catering environment. Corporate office environment experience a plus.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must have basic computer skills, such as Outlook and conference scheduler knowledge.
- Must be able to sit and stand intermittently throughout workday. There will be physical activity including bending, reaching, standing, kneeling, and/or stooping. The employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Must have well-developed customer-service skills and have the ability to work well with interruptions and under pressure.
- Must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Regular schedule is 7am-4pm Monday through Friday but must have the flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends on short-notice, based on meeting/event calendar.
Compensation
The salary range for this role begins at $45,000 and is determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of base salary. Office Protocol/COVID-19
This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of two days each week. All employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or receive a medical or religious exemption.
