GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This is a grant funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued funding.

Performs moderately complex (journey-level) social services work. Facilitates chemical dependency education in a group or individual setting. Work involves serving as a liaison between clients and their families in obtaining assistance and rehabilitative treatment. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a grant funded position, and employment is contingent upon future grant funding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts groups for adult chemically dependent consumers, oversees the activities and completes required documentation.
• Identifies the psychosocial, economic, and physical needs of clients.
• Assesses clients support systems and available community resources, schools, and facilities.
• Provides social work services in the process of client admission, discharge, or furlough.
• Counsels clients and their families and coordinates placements of clients with community facilities and schools.
• Serves as liaison between clients and their families, state and judicial systems, and facility or treatment providers.
• Interviews clients, their families, law enforcement officials, schools, and health and social welfare institutions to obtain client background information.
• Assists with developing individual treatment plans, and in monitoring the observance of clients rights.
• May participate in individual, group, or family therapy sessions.
• May participate as an active member of an interdisciplinary team.
• May provide assistance with transporting clients.
• Meets and maintains all minimum service requirements according to Center requirements, Resilience Disease Management Design and Texas Administrative Codes
• Document case records, assessments, person centered recovery plans and progress notes according to Center requirements and Texas Administrative Codes. Employees will maintain complete and accurate consumer medical records and keep all such information confidential.
• Work behavior must be compatible with Center Values and Mission Statement.
• Must stay compliant with all required training.
• Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of programs processes.
• Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center.
• Frequent daily driving within the catchment area is required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience/Education/Licensing/Certification
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the behavioral sciences with an emphasis in chemical dependency. One year of experience in the chemical dependency field and licensure as an LCDC.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to proficiently utilize computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively handle potentially aggressive behavior in a positive manner.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to plan and schedule work and implement directives without constant supervision.

• Additional Requirements
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Regular attendance and reliability is critical to business operations.
