Logan Place, a Preble Street Housing First program, provides housing and 24-hour comprehensive, supportive services for 30 adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. Logan Place has been a model for a real solution to the problem of homelessness in our communities since 2005, based on the principles that everyone deserves housing and the support necessary to maintain it.

Logan Place currently has 2 available Caseworker positions with 2nd shift schedules. Caseworkers promote a positive and supportive environment for tenants, actively engaging and interacting with tenants, providing casework services, providing program coverage and maintaining safety in program spaces, and providing crisis intervention and support toward assisting tenants in maintaining housing stability.

Two schedules are available: Friday – Monday (2 pm – 12 am) and Sunday – Thursday (3:30 pm – 12 am, M-Th; 4 pm – 12 am on Sunday).

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study and experience providing direct services to people experiencing homelessness, or comparable combination of education and relevant experience.

Additional qualifications include an understanding of and alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services. Also required are strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain documentation of services; ability to engage with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $20.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials of $1.00 or $2.00 per hour.

Shift differentials: Caseworker positions in programs that provide 24/7 services are eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7 am and 10 pm and $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 10 pm and 7 am.
