Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Our Case Management team puts great emphasis on helping each patient transit their health care treatment with an appropriate set of support tools and information. Our caring, professional staff provides timely medical and discharge management to meet clinical and service goals, and to provide an effective, appropriate continuum of care. We want to ensure that our patients receive the attention they need, especially when they require care from several different services and other combinations of medical, financial or social intervention.

This position provides technical and administrative support, as well as responding to inquiries from external organizations, prospective appointees, department/service practitioners and other hospital staff. We are looking for a dedicated and resourceful person with excellent customer service and communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Three (3) years clerical/secretarial experience in position with extensive customer contact.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to read, write, speak and translate one or more foreign language specific to the foreign patients. Knowledge of medical terminology.
