EMCOR Government Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Carpenter Journeyman in Pasadena, CA. supporting JPL. The project is approx. 3 Million SF with more than 200 buildings on campus. The Carpenter will perform general building repairs, commercial carpentry, basic electrical and plumbing, painting and patching.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform drywall repairs
• Painting, patching, staining on walls, ceilings, and trim work
• Repair floors (linoleum, carpeting, tile, etc.)
• Repair and / or replace faucets and related components.
• Hang doors and associated hardware
• Repair and replace windows
• Repair stairwells (steps and risers)
• Perform minor plumbing repairs
• Perform roof surveys and repairs
• Perform minor HVAC repairs
• Perform general building maintenance and repairs as required
• Respond promptly to system and building breakdown.
• Responsible for the completion of all PM and record keeping assigned to his / her areas of responsibility.
• May perform lesser skilled job classifications as required to meet customer requirements (i.e. GMW tasks).
• Performs maintenance on assigned utility cart
• Work with the MRO group to specify, provide vendor quotes, and information for ordering material

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Requires 4-year apprenticeship program or technical schooling with 5 years’ experience with commercial carpentry
• Possess knowledge of commercial construction, maintenance, remodeling techniques, equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety
• Capable of operating site based heavy equipment to include but not be limited to bucket truck, forklift, fuel truck, and excavator (preferred).
• Must demonstrate current knowledge of maintenance practices and concepts
• Must have knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local safety codes and be able to read, interpret and explain schematics and drawings
• Must have the ability to resolve complex issues that require analysis, evaluation, and interpretation
• Must have knowledge of computer operations and application pertinent to their field (CMMS, Microsoft applications and email)
• Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders and work at various heights.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills
• Ability to read and write in the English Language
• Valid CA driver’s license
• Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, pay attention to detail, be dependable, and be a team player
• Flexibility to work alternate schedules as necessary
• Perform all other duties as assigned to meet customer critical missions
• Provide own basic hand tools

Compensation Range: $32.82 / hr.
