Caregiver
Job description
We are seeking caregivers to help take care of our residents in our Assisted Living. No experience is necessary to apply. The duties are as follows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be 18 years old
- have or obtain appropriate state license
- Be efficient and exercise good time management and judgment skills
- Must be able to pass a random drug screening
- Current TB test, health screening & finger printing as required by state
- Negative criminal background record
- Ongoing compliance with company policies and employee handbook
- ability to lift 75 lbs
- teachable, trainable and cooperative
PRIORITIES
1. Help management maintain a 100% occupied building by providing
excellent care and customer service to residents and their families and
follow the shift duties of your shift
2. While providing resident care, show respect and strive to understand each
resident’s preferences and unique desires and expectations.
3. Follow each resident’s service plan and provide care in a manner
consistent with the resident and their legal representative’s preferences.
4. As you discover the best ways to provide quality individualized care, you
will share this information with other staff, so all team members can participate
in providing the same, consistent quality care.
5. Become instinctive in knowing when a resident is not doing well or needs
extra assistance. Take the initiative to reach out and nurture them; always
providing accurate, timely feedback to management using the appropriate
forms and systems as well as giving verbal report.
6. Maintain confidentiality; build positive, professional relationships with all
residents and their families as well as all guests, staff and home health and
hospice agents who come into our home.
7. Memory care residents should be treated as you would treat your best
friend. Be patient, loving and supportive. Speak slowly, calmly and do all
you can to create a loving calm home for each of them.
8. Arrive at scheduled shift on time with a positive cheerful attitude ready to
work. Take scheduled breaks, complete all work assigned to you. Clock in and out on
time.
Termination: The employee may be terminated as the result of a serious offense, the
accumulation of minor offenses, for failure to meet acceptable standards of
performance, or for any other reason deemed necessary by the company. The last and
most serious step in the progressive discipline procedure is a recommendation toterminate employment. Generally, Good Life Senior Living will try to exercise the
progressive nature of this policy by first providing oral and written warnings and/or
suspension from the workplace before proceeding to a recommendation to terminate
employment. However, Good Life Senior Living reserves the right to combine and skip
steps depending upon the circumstances of each situation and the nature of the
offense. Furthermore, employees may be terminated without prior notice or disciplinary
action. As a general rule, any employee who is terminated and even those who leave
on good terms is not allowed to set foot on GoodLife property once employment is
terminated or severed. Any such employees are only welcome on the property by
invitation and with supervision of the manager or corporate official.
NO CALL NO SHOW- texting to call off of work is not allowed, doing so may result
in termination. Employees must find their own shift coverage. Employees must notify
the administrator no less than four hours in advance of an absence and who will be
covering the employee's shift.
Requirements:
* be on feet 66%-100% of the time
* 34%-66% of time squat, kneel, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, grip, turn, finger
dexterity to perform routine care for residents dressing, bathing, toileting, transferring
and assisting with all ADLs and housekeeping, etc.
* Lifting and carrying weights exceeding 50 lbs is to be done with assistance from one
or more persons
* Transferring residents, lifting and carrying supplies 75 lbs (1%-33% of time)
* Transferring residents, lifting and carrying supplies 25-50 lbs (1%-33% of time)
* Transferring residents, lifting and carrying supplies 1-25 lbs (34%-66% of time)
Daily Routine:
- Arrive and remain at work at times according to your schedule
- Sign in / clock in appropriately
- Follow shift duties for your shift to the letter
- Take assigned breaks when and where directed.
- Respond to resident needs and requests and emergencies
- Document what happened on your shift appropriately according to expectations of
your manager.
- Leave property when shift is over and you have clocked out.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
