Responsible for FSET recruitment, enrollment and providing individualized case management services; coordinate with other agencies/programs to facilitate needed services such as education, training, and formal assessments; responsible for placing and monitoring FSET participants in work experience activities; provide work readiness training and assistance.

Career Planner Functions:

A. Recruits and enrolls applicants into FSET program. Explains the services that are available through the FSET program including employment position placements, individualized case management services, and supportive services.

B. Work with participants to help resolve issues that may impact participation such as transportation, childcare issues, absenteeism, tardiness, and interpersonal work behavior challenges.

C. Monitor participant activities to ensure they are meeting the program participation requirements.

D. Use the results of ongoing assessments (in consultation with the participant) to help guide the participant’s decisions regarding their FSET assignments.

E. Make referrals to services outside the scope of FSET.

F. Contact, at minimum, each participant at least once per month to review assigned activities and monitor progress toward meeting established goals.

G. Make accommodations for participants who need to schedule meetings during non-traditional hours, whenever possible.

H. Comply with all confidentiality requirements for participant records.

I. Use data systems to case note and track customer activities.

J. For participants co-enrolled in more than one work program, the Career Planner will assure there are no duplicate services provided by other work programs in which the participant is co-enrolled.

K. Conduct community outreach and inter-agency activities to encourage and promote FSET enrollment.

L. Identify, monitor, and establish appropriate work and training sites

1. Conduct community outreach to identify appropriate work and training activities.

2. Conduct site visits to determine appropriateness for individual or group needs.

3. Develop and review work/training site agreements to facilitate program activities.

4. Provide orientation to work/training site supervisors.

5. Meet with participants at their FSET work or training sites.

6. Observe and record participant activities and gauge participant work readiness.

7. Obtain supervisor evaluations of work behaviors/performance.

8. Ensure compliance with all program regulations, labor laws, health, and safety requirements.

9. Ensure adequacy and appropriateness of assigned work and supervision.

10. Identify any compliance deficiencies and recommend corrective action as needed.

11. Develop additional work and training sites.

M. Conduct orientation and enrollment

1. Assessment of participant interests, capabilities, and service needs.

2. Call or text/reminders of scheduled orientation appointments

3. Conduct orientation and enrollment to all FSET customers.

4. Set up on-site orientation/enrollment hours with community partners

N. Recruit new customers and outreach to community partners

1. Conduct community outreach to recruit new customers for WRI programs.

O. Assist with vocational assessment, career planning, work readiness and job search training

P. Enter case notes into CWW FSET tool for all contacts with participants accurately and in a timely manner.

Q. Visit community partners and other community resources (i.e., Food pantries, churches, libraries, and resource rooms), to recruit new applicants using the WRI short application.

R. Contact employers to identify job openings and promote our programs and serves.

S. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, Psychology or related fields. Experience or interest working with local and regional businesses desired. Requires valid drivers license and access to dependable transportation.

Excellent interpersonal, team work, problem solving, communication and computer skills; knowledge of regional businesses and ability to interact with business representatives; ability to recruit potential participants; positive work ethic, ability to maintain accurate, neat and complete records required. Knowledge and experience in career planning, work readiness and job search training desirable. Ability to work independently and have good time management skills.

Will serve customers in both Rusk and Taylor counties. Background check required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
