Job description
Overview
CHI St. Vincent a regional health network serving Arkansas is part of CommonSpirit Health. We have served Arkansas since 1888 with a history of many firsts. Together with more than 4500 coworkers 1000 medical staff and 500 volunteers we consistently receive praise for care advancements.
Working in Cardiac as an ICU Stepdown nurse offers a variety of clinical challenges to nurses who choose this clinical area. Your patients are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life threatening disease. You must be able to multitask; wearing many hats daily including patient advocate, family advisor and, in some cases, even friend. You excel in these roles because you understand that your talent for nursing and compassion for others complement one another.
While the intensive care unit is not as fast-paced as other service lines, can be physically and emotionally exhausting. You are constantly monitoring high acuity patients and need to act quickly should the slightest change occur. You sometimes feel drained, but forget those feelings when your patients show signs of improvement, thanks to you.
