Job Description:
CAD Designer/Engineering Technician for medical space planning embedded with and supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. The Technician will provide services to successfully conduct medical facilities CAD support services. Drafting for both construction projects, as well as, medical special planning encompasses all disciplines i.e., architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc. that requires a working knowledge of the construction process and materials and architectural medical space planning. There are multiple existing CAD files that the operator will use to build these layouts and modify with new information. The position will collaboratively work with VA staff and the VCI project management team to provide technical and drafting support. All final products (CAD and or BIM files) must be in conformance with client and National CAD standards. This will require that the correct and or appropriate title block, plotting style (CTB file), layers, line types (LIN file), symbols, scaling, and annotation/text formatting and naming standards are followed.
Education:
- Associate degree or graduate of an accredited Technical School.
- Educational requirement may be substituted by 5 years of directly related experience.
Requirement:
- 3 years of experience in technical project coordination, preferably in architectural-engineering industry.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience in document control and management, updating of project schedules, etc.
- Must be proficient in Revit.
Other Qualifications:
- Maintains revisions to contract drawings and makes architectural and engineering sketches and prepares CADD drawings to support field management related to building construction or renovation.
- Medical space planning knowledge is not required but preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
