GarrettX is currently looking for a CAD Technician who can make an immediate impact! The ideal candidate will have experience using Trimble Business Center and experience with Machine Model Building.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Prepare survey data files for Survey Technician use in preparing civil construction layout
* Prepare survey data files to be used for GPS excavating equipment
* Use design engineers electronic files and paper plans to create surface models.
* Draft/Prepare Final Sire and Utility As-Built plans
* Perform quantity and earthwork volume takeoffs
* Prepare Mapping Deliverables including contouring plans and interim As-Built plans
* Maintain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to facilitate the successful completion of the projects
* Understand project documentation including Plans and Specifications
* Recognize errors and understand the processes to resolve
* Flexible and adaptable to change
* Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Working knowledge of Survey practices and computations
* Ability to interpret the design engineer's intent from the various project
* Ability to interpret the design engineer's intent from the various project documents to digitally produce accurate and working 3D surface models as well as the preparation of improvement data for construction layout
* Proficient in the use of CAD/Design/Takeoff related software required such as Trible Business Center. (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Agtek, are a big plus)
* Knowledge and the ability to utilize Trimble Business Center significate plus but will train if necessary
* Experience with 3D module building
* Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
* Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks: organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills
* Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of basic computer technology
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks fast paced environment
* Dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals
* Strong math and analytical skills
* Familiarity with the surveying and construction industry preferred
* At least 2 years of construction or surveying industry experience required
