We are seeking an experienced, ambitious, and energetic Business Development Manager to join our team! You will be a strong team and individual (self-motivated) contributor with the expectation of developing new customer relationships, taking necessary actions to uncover and grow existing business revenues and execute a pipeline of targeted prospects by selling AdvancTEK diverse portfolio. AdvancTEK is a full-service product development, engineering and manufacturing partner offering solutions of injection and RIM molding, large components, and value-add assemblies.

We trust that you are a leading sales and business development individual who knows the market and can travel to grow our business. The right person should have experience in the plastics industry and has connections that will allow AdvancTEK to expand its customer base. This person will need to understand AdvancTEK capabilities and unlock opportunities with leading B2B OEMs in industrial, medical, defense, recreational, telecom and heavy vehicles markets.

You will have high visibility to the executive leadership team. This is a remote position in the Southeast region, reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing. If you like winning, you'll love what we do!

ESSENTIAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Establish a diverse and robust customer base – both new and existing customers.
  • Approximately 80% of this role will be spent developing new customers utilizing a consultative relationship selling approach. Approximately 20% will be growing current customer relationships.
  • Proactively prospect and cultivate relationships and grow revenue by building and managing the sales pipeline with new and existing customers.
  • Facilitates RFQ process (as needed), delivers proposals (with the help of cross-functional team members as appropriate) and closes business.
  • Take responsibility to help establish and then achieve annual sales forecast and profit objectives.
  • Work with customers to ensure continual sales growth and that the products we manufacture are a good fit for the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineers and Managers (internal and external) to effectively meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Identify and represent AdvancTEK at key tradeshows and networking events to further expand knowledge of the industry and AdvancTEK's value-proposition.
  • Participate in and influence the new product development process as the voice of the customer to help drive new product ideas and offerings to drive AdvancTEK's strategic vision.
  • Stays informed of customer business opportunities, account changes, current conditions, prospects, and competitive landscape to protect revenue from competitors.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or marketing disciplines or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Preferred 5+ years sales or engineering experience in the plastic injection industry or with proven ability to successfully develop new clientele and grow sales to B2B OEM industry. Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas, along with a consistent track record of developing new business and managing a full sales cycle.
  • Skills: Proven record of a hunting mentality and great prospecting skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems. Exceptional judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of engineering or technical operations; strong knowledge of selling technical solutions; Preferred knowledge of injection molding custom solutions in plastics including tooling building.
  • Abilities: Ability to travel frequently (50% or more – North America); To work independently with limited supervision; To be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with external and internal customers and other departments. To be a strategic thinker.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Ability to translate strategy into tactical implementation to execute on the opportunities.
  • Able to effectively call on all levels of the customer hierarchy and multiple functions (Sourcing, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) of major OEM companies.
  • Brings established relationships and a history of successfully winning new business.
  • Ability to analyze information and communicate to customers and all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and influence peers and management.
  • Highly motivated, disciplined/self-starter.
  • Strong ability to build effective relationships.
  • Proficiency with tools and methods that allow for efficient data analysis and presentation development (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly responsiveness and resilient.
  • Possess an inquisitive and curious nature.
  • Ability to work independently as well as thrive within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and adaptable to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to analyze, understand and effectively communicate technical material.
  • Able to assess the financial impact of deals & opportunities.
  • Skilled in negotiation.
  • Strong understanding of the industrial industry and/or contract manufacturing industry.
