SCHEDULE IS MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9AM-5PM
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The BioRepository Specialist 1 shall perform routine data entry for incoming and outgoing cGMP materials; shall be required to make scientific observations, maintain detailed documentation, , and ensure all documentation fulfills generally accepted professional/industry standards. Requirements also include maintaining a thorough understanding of MilliporeSigma services, technical principles and applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs documentation and tasks in accordance with SOPs and regulations (cGMP and GLP).
- Make detailed observations upon receipt of client Cell Banks prior to storage the cell Banks
- Demonstrates a consistently high level of quality of work.
- Operates and maintains lab equipment as required by SOPs and testing procedures and be familiar with materials such as liquid nitrogen and dry ice.
- Perform peer review of data entry.
- Utilizes applicable computer programs during inventory transactions and routine tasks (i.e., Word, Excel, Oracle, BRIQS, etc.).
- Utilize problem solving/ trouble shooting skills.
- Communicate deviations/events, shipment issues, equipment failure/alarms and storage capacity to management and Project Support Managers
- Maintain a working knowledge of the BioRepository procedures and assays.
- Creates/ revise SOPs, and other related documentation as assigned
- Complies with company health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education (minimum requirements):
- High School diploma or GED with 0-2 years relevant experience.
- Or equivalent relevant experience
Experience:
- Experience in logistics within a life science company preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of basic computer systems and logistics related databases preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team-based environment
