Position Description:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for the execution of daily revenue cycle activities. Such activities include process authorizations, claim submission, denial and accounts receivable management and posting of payments.
Additional responsibilities include representing Family First Homecare and its services in a competent, professional, and responsive manner while maintaining standards of high-quality customer service in accordance with all state, local and federal requirements, rules, and regulations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process authorizations
- Process insurance claims
- Post payments
- Process and manage payer denials, exceptions, and exclusions
- Manage accounts receivable
- Assist with research to resolve billing and payer audit issues as needed
- Participate in FFHC Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Program (QAPI) as requested
- Complete all mandatory training / in-services as assigned
- Adhere to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations
- Maintain patient and family confidentiality
- Maintain professional, supportive, and responsive interpersonal communication skills
- Preform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in healthcare billing
- Proficient use of in MS Office Suite and standard office equipment
- Can execute a high volume of phone calls with appropriate etiquette.
- Manage a wide variety of activities and functions simultaneously
- Cleared background screening
- Read and communicate in English both verbally and in writing
Has access to all patient medical records and patient financial accounts, personnel records, and Agency financial records, which may be discussed with all management staff, including the Governing Body.
