Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in business or accounting preferred
- At least 2 years work experience in Billing and Accounts Receivable
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Knowledge of Medicare billing and Conditions of Participation
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Strong keyboarding and computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software
- Cooperates with the CFO to provide support mechanisms to enable quality patient/client care.
- Prepares, reviews and submits accurate billings to Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payers.
- Remains current on and implements compliance with requirements and regulations pertaining to reimbursement issues written by Medicare, Medicaid, and various private insurance carriers.
- Resolves claim denials with Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payers.
- Collects statistics to be used in agency decision making and reporting.
- Adheres to accuracy and data entry completeness standards pertaining to the patient management database, following up, as appropriate, when inconsistencies are noted.
- Prepares informational account statements for patients if needed.
- Collects accounts receivable and prepares bad debt analysis.
- Classifies and records receipts of payment.
- Prepares timely and accurate accounts receivable and patient/client related statistical reports.
- Re-credentials all professional staff with reimbursement sources.
