Job description
The Behavioral Health Security Responder provides security services to all customers, patients, associates and visitors while protecting hospital assets, buildings, equipment and premises. In addition, the Behavioral Health Security Responder provides care to the patients under the supervision of the registered nurse while providing a safe and secure environment. All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration. The Behavioral Health Security Officer will demonstrate the Behavioral Health Center s philosophy to Total Quality Management by actively applying that philosophy in all dealings with both internal and external customers.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in psychology, criminal justice, or related field or Minimum of five years (5) of relevant experience in a healthcare or inpatient psychiatric setting required, or Previous law enforcement experience with experience in de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Minimum of 3 years security operations with exposure to behavioral health population preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Must be capable to conduct restraint of patients, visitors, and other violent, unruly customers.
- Successful completion of site personnel general orientation as well as successful completion of department specific orientation.
