The Banquet Manager’s primary responsibility is to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests. The Banquet Manager oversees all aspects of banquets or events, including set-up, serving, and cleanup while focusing on detail, quality presentation and customer service. The Banquet Manager is also responsible for directing and managing banquet associates to ensure proper execution of all banquet functions.

9. Previous banquet or event experience required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
3. Assists guest in organizing banquet functions and ensures guest satisfaction by communicating with the host guest throughout the event.
4. Directs banquet setup and scheduling, including anticipating banquet scheduling and supplies needs based on BEOs and forecasting. Maintains knowledge of banquet rooms, including setups, capacities, sizes, etc.
5. Ensures proper billing and recording of all events in a timely manner, including the proper reporting of staff labor and gratuities. Prepares daily setup sheets and assignments for banquet associates.
6. Completes and/or oversees all banquet related inventories, purchasing, and asset controls according to established policies and procedures.
7. Conducts routine inspections of all banquet facilities to ensure guest service and quality standards are met, as well as safety, maintenance and cleanliness standards. Coordinates repairs with maintenance department to maintain quality operations.
8. Communicates on a regular basis with the management team. Attends and contributes to required meetings.
9. Thoroughly communicates with banquet associates through daily communication and regular meetings.
10. Interviews and selects qualified associates for hire. Provides effective orientation, training, coaching, evaluation, recognition, and motivation to associates. Provides associates with the necessary tools to perform their jobs.
11. Identifies and regularly communicates performance expectations as well as policies and procedures to associates. Enforces company policies and administers corrective action as necessary, in a consistent and effective manner.
12. Works with Human Resources on all employee relations, performance management, leave of absence and worker’s compensation concerns. Promptly responds to all requests from Human Resources regarding personnel matters.
13. Ensures and promotes a professional work environment free from inappropriate and offensive conduct of any type.
14. Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.
15. Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
16. Performs all other duties as assigned.
