Job Description:
As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth execution of banquets and ensuring the highest level of service delivery. You will lead a team of banquet staff, coordinate event logistics, and maintain exceptional standards of guest satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise and train banquet staff, ensuring a cohesive and efficient team
· Collaborate with event planners and other departments to ensure seamless event execution
· Coordinate event set-up, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary equipment
· Monitor and maintain banquet service quality, ensuring adherence to company standards
· Anticipate guest needs and promptly respond to inquiries, concerns, and special requests
· Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and presentation
· Conduct pre-event and post-event inspections to ensure proper setup and breakdown of event spaces
· Resolve any service-related issues or conflicts in a timely and professional manner
· Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with guests, colleagues, and vendors
· Uphold safety and sanitation standards, following all health and safety regulations
· Provide feedback and performance evaluations for banquet staff
Requirements:
· Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role in a high-volume hospitality environment
· Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
· Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
· Proven customer service orientation and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule
· Familiarity with industry-standard software and technology used in banquet operations
· Certification in food handling and alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe) is preferred
