Integrated Strategies Group (ISG)
ISG focusses on cross asset and less conventional investment opportunities, develops thematic investment strategies and actively expands GIC’s network of relationships beyond traditional domains. The team focuses on opportunities that slip through the cracks for traditional asset classes. This allows for the ability to find the ‘right investment structure’ – this could include public & private equity, M&A financing, PIPEs, structured / convertible securities, mezzanine and other debt instruments. The team also does thematic deep dives and opens the funnel for new investment areas; recent examples include aircraft leasing, music royalties, spectrum, mid-market financing.

ISG is focused on:

  • Broadening GIC’s investment opportunities set by engaging in targeted sourcing and business development and evaluating unconventional/large deals.
  • Optimizing at the overall GIC level and fostering a collaborative approach that harnesses GIC’s capability and maximizes internal resources on cross-asset class deals, across product types, public and private markets and capital structure.
  • Helping to build GIC spectrum of direct investing capabilities; whereby GIC is regarded as a flexible solution provider with long-term capital and well-regarded investing skills.
  • Ensuring that GIC is in time for the future through New Investment Ideas initiative/ evaluating and testing out frontiers.

The team is looking for an Assistant Vice President in New York. In order to apply, you must have:

  • At least 4 years of prior investment banking and private equity experience with strong financial modeling skills and hands-on transactional experience
  • Top academic qualifications and demonstrated performance
  • Intellectual curiosity, ability to handle ambiguity and interest in evaluating opportunities across asset classes (listed equities, structured equity, private equity, credit, funds etc.)
  • Team player, self-starter, able to work independently and with little supervision
  • Strong communication skills

The role will involve:

  • Working with the SVP or the MD to lead execution of investments, managing deal teams and liaising with partners and external advisors.
  • Deal execution would comprise of commercial evaluation, managing the diligence advisors, presenting investment decisions to investment committee and negotiating transaction documentation.
  • Taking an active role in monitoring portfolio companies, including attending board meetings, annual meetings and reporting on investment progress.
  • Help in the sourcing efforts, including identifying new investment opportunities and themes and building on both existing and new relationships that could scale up over time

Compensation

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $131,300 and $216,400.
Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
