Eaton’s VEH Vehicle Group division is currently seeking a Automation Technician . This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL location. The Automation Technician’s responsibilities include set up, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures.The hourly rate for this position is $23- $35 per hour. What you’ll do:
- Perform tooling changeovers to automatic assembly machines and verify function, machine capabilities and conformance
- Interpret blueprints to verify conformance of parts to prints using measuring instruments
- Interpret electrical schematics to assist in troubleshooting PLC controlled equipment
- Utilize photo-electric, laser, and proximity sensors to assist in set up and operation of metalworking machines such as vertical mills, lathes, and surface grinders to fabricate or modify parts
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of automation experience within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of one (1) year of PLC Programming, machine controls, or other industrial automation tools
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Carol Stream, IL facility will be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years’ experience working on automation equipment
- Knowledge in PLC controlled machinery
- Experience with photo-electric, laser and proximity sensors
- Experience working with automated vision inspection systems
- Experience working as a programming integrator
