Job Responsibilities
Research Administration (35%)
Assist faculty in securing research funding, facilitate publication and exhibition of faculty work, encourage community and stakeholder engagement through external agendas and impact-oriented activities, develop new College-based vehicles to publish faculty and student work, and interface with external academic units for collaborative research initiatives. Develop and align new and existing research units and initiatives within the College of Art and Design and among external LSU academic units.
Graduate Studies Administration (15%)
Organize College PhD faculty for Doctorate of Design (DDes) administrative purposes governance; recruitment; admissions; and monitoring student progress. Coordinate the DDes program with the LSU Graduate School. Create and manage a DDes advisory group committee comprised of local, regional, national, and international stakeholders and professionals. Develop new curriculum to expand the Cultural Preservation Program, including the design, approval, and launch of a Ph.D. in Cultural Preservation program to complement the existing DDes program.
Development (15%)
Expand the influence, presence, and visibility of the College of Art and Design faculty and students through external partnerships with local, state, national, and international organizations, stakeholders, and communities to develop long-term impact-oriented collaboration and capacity-building activities. Work with the Dean and the Director of Development to expand existing opportunities for alumni engagement and donor cultivation with the College of Art and Design to enhance financial support to fund new initiatives related to the College’s research profile and portfolio of projects.
Outreach & Engagement (10%)
Manage student recruitment for the DDes program. Collaborate with office of communications to maintain website, social media, and recruitment content. Expand and enhance the profile of the graduate offerings in the College of Art and Design by attending conferences and stakeholder-facing events.
Teaching (25%)
Teach 6 credit hours per year.
