Associate Attorney

Our Family and Elder Law firm in downtown Tacoma has an immediate opportunity for an Associate Attorney.... a team player who is detail-oriented with excellent client relations, legal research, writing, and courtroom skills. At the Law Firm Where the Family is Our Focus – we engage in all aspects of Family Law and Elder Law (Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship, Conservatorship) – through Transactional, Litigation, Negotiation, Mediation, and Collaborative Law methods of practice.

We seek an individual, who connects well with diverse clients, has the ability to listen and track details, can write clean and persuasive legal documents, and can give a great oral argument. If you can convey empathy and compassion and yet be assertive and efficient, then we may be the Law Firm for you. We need someone interested in growing with us. $100,000 (and up commensurate with experience) yearly with the ability to generate Bonus Structure.

Compensation:

$100,000 - $125,000 yearly plus bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with Clients and others in Meetings, through Emails and Letters, by Telephone, and by Zoom
  • Communicating with the Team to give the client the best outcome we can, for each individual circumstance.
  • Preparing for Hearings, Settlement Conferences, Mediations, Trials, and other proceedings
  • Drafting, reviewing, and revising Motions, Declarations, Court Orders, and other pleadings and legal documents
  • Preparing Discovery
  • Conducting legal research and gathering client documentation
  • Preparing Legal Briefs – Memoranda
  • Drafting Estate Planning Documents
  • Working with Law Firm Owner/Supervising Attorney and Staff to manage cases and strategize to achieve clients’ goals, court, and other Deadlines
  • Engaging in Law Firm's Monthly "Wave of Change" Community Service Campaign

Qualifications:

  • Proven organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept at using various Systems and Software programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) -Teams, Podium, Clio Grow, Clio Manage, DropBox, mypleadings, WealthCounsel, LINX, and JIS
  • Minimum 3+ years experience as an Attorney, preferably in the area of Family and Elder Law
  • The successful candidate must have experience preparing a case from beginning to end – client intake through closing files
  • Ability to work well as part of a Team, as well as independently
  • Positive Attitude and Team Player
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus, as Law Firm is Bilingual Law Firm
