M Health Fairview's Clinical Abstraction & Registry team is hiring an Associate Abstractor! This work from home position is a Day Shift, weekday only, full time dedication (80 hours/2 weeks). Responsibilities/Job Description:
The Associate Abstractor abstracts clinical data used to collect patient health statuses, benchmarking with other organizations, and/or to meet regulatory standards using prescribed protocols and entering into appropriate database systems. They work to acquire knowledge and skills related to system regulations and regulatory reporting as evidenced by assessments or reports. Responsibilities include:
- Completes data collection per system and regulatory protocol.
- Applies regulatory and registry abstraction guidelines using clinical knowledge for accurate and timely data abstraction.
- Maintains knowledge of, and aligns with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Responsible for identifying areas for process improvement in the data collection process.
- Responsible for clerical and/or administrative duties as needed to support the department.
Education: Associates Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Detail oriented
- Data entry
- Technical skills with experience using Windows and Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology (preferred)
- One or more years’ experience healthcare setting (preferred)
