Duties

Assist the Teacher in all areas of the classroom and playground.
Assist the Teacher in planning and providing developmentally appropriate experiences for children and in implementing the curriculum.
Assist in promoting the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child. Assist in implementing the weekly individualized activity plans.
Assist in planning lessons and a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate for children.
Model a positive disposition toward learning.
Maintain a classroom atmosphere that creates a feeling of community.
Communicate effectively with co-workers and families.
Assist in planning and executing effective field trips (for children ages 6yrs and up).
Assist in using learning time effectively and efficiently. Implement a daily schedule and transitions that support children's learning.
Assist with ongoing assessment of children.
Assist with promoting and supporting the family's role in the child's development.
Help organize a developmentally appropriate physical environment, both indoors and outdoors.
Help use the outdoor environment as an extension of the classroom.
Model and encourage positive socialization and interactions among children and with adults.
Use a variety of positive guidance and classroom management methods.
Assist with implementing family style dining and appropriate health and dental practices.
Maintain the cleanliness, health and safety of the classroom.
Assist with daily health checks.
Assist in keeping accurate records of children's progress.

Requirements

6 months experience working in a licensed Child Care Facility
must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma/GED
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
Negative TB Test
Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background check
Must be a high energy person who does not mind sitting on the floor, singing off-key, acting silly, or getting messy

Nice To Haves

1-year experience working in a licensed Child Care Facility
CDA or 12 ECE units
