Job description
The Westfield Area YMCA is seeking part-time and full-time Assistant Teachers. Must love working with children and are passionate about teaching. The Assistant Teacher works together with the Head Teacher while implementing planned activities and curriculum to promote youth development, social responsibility and healthy living. The ideal candidate is flexible with their schedule, has experience working with children (age’s infant – 5 years old) and has a genuine interest in teaching/education.
- Assist Teacher with daily classroom activities
- Able to follow instructions and provide support
- Aid in preparing materials for lessons
- Supervise and interact with children
- Create a nurturing and warm environment
Monday - Friday (no weekends!) Part-time shifts available and Full-time (40 hrs)

- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years classroom experience or other suitable childcare experience.
- CDA/Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and youth.
