Primrose School Virginia Beach South is looking for Full time Assistant Teachers to join our team! Come work near the beach and enjoy one hour breaks daily! With the warmer weather coming up, our school is located in the perfect place for you to enjoy yourself after work at Sandbridge Beach, Red Mill Shopping District, and are minutes away from the Va Beach ocean front!

This position works year round Monday-Friday with a set schedule, with pay starting at $15.50/hr. (No weekends and guaranteed 40 hours a week!)

You would be working in the following age groups:

• Infants to 4 year olds

The ideal candidate must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency and Primrose School of Virginia Beach Standards such as/but not limited to:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Negative TB screening upon first day of employment
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs in connection with handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous teaching/childcare experience preferred

The responsibilities consist of:

• Assist with supervision and daily classroom functions
• Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
• Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time and bathroom activities.
• Maintains the Primrose Schools professional attire, attitude and work behavior.
• Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions as determined by the Leadership Team.
