JOB SUMMARY:

The APM is a support position established to assist a team of Program Managers (“PM”) in the delivery of personalized service to our “Key” accounts. The APM assists in the “ownership” of every job that is performed for their assigned accounts to ensure MER delivers the highest quality service with outstanding project management discipline

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the PM(s) with his/her overall responsibility to ensure each job is delivered with the required level of safety, quality and profitability.
  • Learn the relevant contractual terms that are in place with the applicable clients to assist with initiating work and billing the client.
  • Assist with the development and communication of WOWS (Work Order/Worksheets), including all supporting documentation, that demonstrate an in depth understanding and full knowledge of each job scope, time budget, relevant safety requirements, subcontract or material requirements and applicable client contract specifications.
  • Where possible, attend site walks with the PM(s) to understand the development of work scopes, job estimates and proposals. Seek assistance and approval for jobs greater than $25,000.
  • Assist the PM(s) with coordinating the proper scheduling, logistics and resource allocation for jobs.
  • Stay informed of the daily progress of all applicable projects by regularly communicating with the applicable PM(s).
  • Potentially provide job site supervision for a project if business needs and/or technical expertise call for it.
  • Assist the PM(s) project finance duties, including:
  • Coordinating proper documentation such as client and/or vendor requests for W-9’s, insurance certificates, credit references, lien releases, bonding issues, etc. o Reviewing WOWS in comparison with the job scope and budget. o Enter the WOWS information into MAST o Timely A/P invoice approval as appropriate. o May assist with reviewing invoices for client billing.
  • Assist with collecting accounts receivable where necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This role may spend a portion of time on projects as a billable field employee (i.e., Supervisor, Foreman or experienced Field Tech., depending on experience level) if business needs fluctuate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least two (2) years of field experience in at least two (2) of MER’s core competencies.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and analytical skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of clients, employees and management.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Excel and web-based software.
  • Display strong time management, organizational, and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to understand and analyze components of jobs costs, profit and loss.
  • Be aware of OSHA 1910, 1915 and 1926 standards, DOT standards and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory standards.
  • Basic understanding of equipment capabilities and requirements of different types of jobs, with specific and demonstrated experience in at least two core competencies.
  • Ability to serve as an outside representative of the Company.
  • Ability to work in a wide range of environments including those involving hazardous conditions which may require lifting or exerting force exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Having the appropriate licenses, in good standing and meet applicable MER and DOT driving requirements to operate company vehicles and equipment (documentation is required) is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.
  • Must participate in and successfully complete continuing education training courses in occupational safety and environmental regulations as outlined by the MER employee development program. Minimum training requirements include:

o 29 CFR 1910.120 OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper and 8 Hour Annual Refresher

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree a plus. o NOTE – relevant industry and/or business experience can supplement educational requirement as determined by management.
  • Project accounting and/or financial accounting education and/or experience is a plus.
