Growing School Bus company, Montauk Transit Service, LLC. is looking for an experienced part-time Dispatcher for our Somerset, NJ location from 1pm - 5:30pm. Candidate should be able to efficiently help to support Head Dispatcher. Schedule and dispatch daily routes and trips. Have previous school bus or transportation dispatching experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills with clients and drivers are a must. Extensive data entry and telephone usage will be required. Position may require some driving when necessary. Must speak Spanish and English

Responsibilities:

• Directs and monitors daily assignments; schedules drivers, bus assistants, and assigns vehicles to ensure daily coverage of all routes, field trips, and charter work.
• Answer phone calls and emails
• Quote charter work
• Notifies District and building personnel of all changes in route assignments, emergency situations, accidents, breakdowns, or any other event that will disrupt service.
• Use radio, phone, or computer to send crews, vehicles, or other field units to appropriate locations.
• Act as point of contact for both in-district and out of district school personnel for the scheduling of all trip requests for field trips, athletics, and any other extra-curricular trips.
• Responds to emergency calls, coordinates mechanical service repair, and assigns replacement buses and drivers when there is a problem on a route.
• Handles customer concerns and requests for information in an expeditious and professional manner.

Job Requirements

• 2-3 years dispatching experience (preferred in the transportation field)
• Ability to pass drug screening, physical and background check
• Bilingual (Preferred)
• CDL License with all endorsements BPS , will train the right person
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with routing software
• Year round work
