Job Title: Assistant Director of Residential Services
Location: Pembroke, MA
Summary of Position:
Responsible for assigned residential housing units including: staffing and supervision, clinical requirements, physical maintenance, quality control of systems, organizational requirements, budget, and for other similar duties necessary to the functions of assigned housing units for residents in adherence with New England Village, external agencies, programs’ and state and local policies, regulations and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring proper staffing ratios are maintained in each home, review master and weekly program schedules and provide on-site support as necessary.
- Monitor training of staff and provide coaching of staff as appropriate, provide counsel to resolve conflicts between staff, establish performance expectations, monitor and provide feedback as to performance, participate in staff performance reviews and make effective recommendations as to personnel matters affecting staff to supervisor and Human Resources.
- Conduct periodic and scheduled meetings with house managers, attend house meetings, provide counsel in the development of professional and performance competencies.
- Participate in organizational activities including: performing essential duties in absence of team member, serve on committees, assist in modification of policies and procedures, assist in NEV events, participate in admissions process as required, serve in on-call rotation, participate in budget development and monitoring of approved budgets, monitor compliance with regulatory agencies and funding sources.
- Facilitate person-centered planning to support individuals in selecting their goals, developing a plan to achieve these goals and the appropriate supports and services. Chair/participate in ISP meetings, monitor ISP activities and coordinate schedules of meetings, quality of documentation and file maintenance. Ensure and participate in communication with residents’ families and funding agencies.
- Lead and model the implementation of behavior programs/plans developed and written by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in home and community-based settings. Monitor the collection of accurate data as part of the behavior plan.
- Respond to critical individual needs. Coordinate treatment referral, follow through and communicate with agency consultants, schedule and chair clinical review meetings as needed, partner with nursing and behavioral staff to coordinate thorough clinical care and communication of treatment needs.
- Address maintenance concerns with Facility Manager for assigned program, monitor upkeep as to cleanliness and equipment/supplies. Receive, follow up, and monitor electronic maintenance system requests from assigned programs/residencies.
- Perform quality control duties including: reconcile resident cash on hand accounts on scheduled basis, conduct random house cash audits, approve periodic residents budget requests and monitor budget reconciliations, communicate with families on regular basis, responding to family concerns as needed, monitor data collection and program implementation, conduct rounds on campus, participate in coordinating of licensure and certification reviews.
- Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as requested by supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred, but experience may substitute for education.
- 3-5 years of Human Services management experience.
- Experience in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) and ABA strategies preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, programs, and applications
- Strong time management, organizational, and writing skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, have a current, valid and in good standing, US drivers' license.
- CPR, First Aid and MAP certification preferred. If hired without certifications, must become certified within 4 months of hire. Must maintain certifications during employment.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Wide variety of programmatic duties requiring a general knowledge of related organizational and funding agency policies and procedures and their application to cases not previously covered.
- Inside and outside contacts carrying out program and team policies or programs and influencing others where improper handling will have a marked effect on results. Involves dealing with supervisor on matters requiring explanation, discussion, persuasion and obtaining approvals.
- Work with confidential data such as individual case records which if disclosed inadvertently could have significant internal effect or minor external effect.
