Pharmacy Manager

Administrative Pharmacy opportunity at a Community Hospital located within close proximity to Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Principle Responsibilities

• Responsible for the total operation of pharmaceutical service in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy. Responsible for daily operation of the Pharmacy
• Responsible for providing space, equipment and supplies for the professional and administrative functions of the pharmaceutical service as to promote a smooth operation of the department and to promote patient safety through the proper storage, preparation, dispensing and administration of medications.
• Responsible for the development of procedures utilizing control access cabinets.
• Responsible for the maintenance of all appropriate records.

• Responsible for the interviewing and hiring of all staff positions.
• Serves as a preceptor of pharmacy students.
• Evaluates work performance of assigned employees.

• Assists with keeping policies and procedures current, and writing of new policies and procedures with the Director of Pharmacy.
• Responsible for narcotic control with the institution.
• Responsible for the monthly inspections of all units in the medical center where medications are dispensed, administered or stored, to insure that only in date drugs are used and to minimize floor stock medications.

• Serves as member of assigned hospital or medical staff committees.

• Responsible for departmental QA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $142,901.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Education:

• Doctorate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Health System Pharmacy Leadership: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Registered Pharmacist (Preferred)
