Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Observes and report all patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedures.
• Aid with movement and placement of patients.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multitasking. Able to function under stressful situations.
• Answers telephone, intercom, and call lights politely using appropriate telephone etiquette and communicates information to the right staff/family/patient.
• Serves as liaison between patient care units and all other patient-related departments.
• Performs pre-census and validates daily admission, discharge, and census lists, on an as-needed basis.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate
• Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
• At least 18 years old
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Proof of COVID vaccination
• Ability to undergo criminal and drug background check
• Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and perform tasks such as lifting and moving patients
