De Alba Architecture, a small and dynamic architectural firm in Fresno, California, is seeking a talented and experienced architectural drafter that is professional, highly motivated and passionate about architecture. Our firm focuses on providing high quality design.

The architectural drafter is expected to be involved in every aspect of the project and to work on a variety of projects, while collaborating on all levels. Responsibilities include but are not limited to project management, coordination, and preparation of construction documents for small to large size projects, and construction administration. This demanding and fast paced position will require a personable candidate with extensive experience in drawings, client service and vendor relations, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team structure.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and completion of construction documents and specifications.
• Occasionally assist with carrying out on-site surveys.
• Follow red-lined instructions of architect accurately in a supportive role efficiently and effectively in preparation of construction documents with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize in a deadline driven environment.
• Possess strong time management skills and maintain composure under tight deadlines.
• Create and review construction documents for industry specific projects based on schematic designs, design development drawings, preliminary sketches, concepts, and client meetings.
• Recognize and resolve discrepancies between construction documents and specifications.
• Communicate and coordinate internally and externally with team members and maintain good client relations.
• Will require experience in residential and commercial projects, which include, single family dwellings, apartments, offices, retail, industrial, manufacturing, religious, and interiors.
• Will involve the production and coordination of several projects concurrently.
• Communicate and coordinate project requirements with the project team and consultants.
• Must be able to integrate and coordinate architectural, schedules, materials, manufacturer products, and consultant’s drawings, such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, land surveying, energy, and other specialists.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of California Building Standard Codes, planning ordinances, zoning regulations, entitlements, and all local jurisdiction plan checking process.
• Ability to interpret construction data, engineering calculations and specifications.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD Architectural and having a technical and thorough understanding of construction documents, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
• 2-year Associate Degree in Architecture preferred, but not required, or 2 years’ experience in custom residential and light commercial projects.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, motivated/self-starter, energetic, great organizational skills, responsible, reliable, and team oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Compensation

• Salary is commensurate with experience, great work environment, competitive wages, and benefits.
