Position Summary:
The Application Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the design, development, and documentation of new products following an established release process. The chosen canidate will report to the Application Engineering Manager and work directly with Project Leaders to complete tasks in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring CAD models, BOMs and other supporting documentation is clear and error free to help ensure a smooth product launch as development projects transition to high volume production.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Works on basic designs, ECNs, and Applications work for several projects concurrently.
  • Works with engineers to establish a project target through internal research and customer knowledge with significant oversight of management.
  • Organizes the project timeline and action items with help from senior engineer to include a cross-functional design, test, NPI, quality, and manufacturing team.
  • Tests and troubleshoots functionality of systems; identifies and documents technical issues to be escalated to product teams for resolution.
  • Oversee fabrication of prototypes, evaluate product fitment and support vehicle calibration.
  • Conducts design and testing, which may include field testing and operation of vehicles.
  • Helps track the project to the target and reports to engineering staff/management at key milestones.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
Technical or associates degree in Engineering or related field, or relevant certification(s) preferred
Experience:
6+ years of relevant hands-on experience required
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for long periods of time
Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
