Job Summary:
The purpose of the Supply Planning Analyst is to ensure the successful execution of the supply plan. This position will work closely with the Supply Planners to understand the goals of the supply plan and will work with distribution, third-party warehousing, customer service, the manufacturing facilities and others to provide direction on how best to accomplish the required tasks to service our customers and support the plan.
Role Responsibilities:
40% - Shipment Execution Support - Manage the flow of product from facilities using appropriate planning tools for assigned facilities. Work with the third-party operators to ensure that operational and shipping needs are achieved, understanding both the customer service needs for product as well as the third party’s operational constraints. Inform the supply planners of issues and work with distribution management and the third party to resolve issues.
30% - Inventory Management - Manage and control finished goods inventories for assigned items. Reconcile daily product movements from the producing plants to ensure accurate ATP. Balance Inventory between the distribution network facilities and take corrective action when needed. Use the AGI system to monitor product and take action to reduce aged product in facilities. Provide disposition on items that have reached a critical ship date.
15% - JDA system setup - Set up and maintain all JDA system settings for new and existing items and make necessary modifications to achieve desired business results.
10% - Inventory Deployment - Evaluate product needs for assigned copacking facilities and build efficient and timely loads of intermediate product both directly from plants and from distribution centers to support production schedules. Enter direct plant shipments from manufacturing facilities to regional distribution centers into the system and follow up to ensure they are shipped when planned.
5% - Load Building - Support the building of loads in JDA either directly or in a backup role. Understand the JDA load building tool, load capacities, item attributes and how they influence load building. Understand how loads pass from JDA to SAP and Transportation Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain preferred. Other Business or Engineering degrees also considered, preferably with some level of course work related to Supply Chain Management or Logistics. APICS CPIM certification helpful.
- Previous experience in a supply planning role helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management Principles
- Strong teamwork skills, including the ability to train others
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong general PC skills (MS suite of products)
