Position Title: Site Lead

Type: Part-Time

Location: Howard Elementary School

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 2:30 - 6pm

As the Site Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the Site Supervisor with daily operations of an after-school site, with the primary concern for safety, program delivery and supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures implementation of activity plans at his/her site that align with the Boys & Girls Club and the Howard Suamico School District goals and objectives, to strengthen academic success in members and meet minimum program delivery standards.
  • Maintains accountability for program participants throughout duration of the after school program. Ensures follow- through in the event of program participant absenteeism and parent accountability in daily sign-out and pick-up procedures.
  • Coordination of program planning and program implementation by after school staff members.
  • Under the direction of the Site Supervisor; provide leadership, direction, and overall supervision of the after school program and staff members.
  • Monitors after school staff member involvement in delivery of program activities, making certain that staff members are engaging program participants and providing adequate supervision.
  • Maintains and supervises a Community Learning Center that will provide academic support and youth guidance and development opportunities for program participants.
  • Understands and assures the implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and goals while maintaining a safe, clean environment necessary for youth development.
  • Communicates with a strength based approach to develop positive relationships with all youth and families.
  • Utilize the Youth Development Strategy in alignment with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) to maintain a positive behavior environment. Reports severe infractions to the Site Supervisor and parents.
  • Facilitates smooth transition from school dismissal to program check-in, as well as throughout program components.
  • Supports in managing volunteers for best utilization by the after school program.
  • Supports the Site Supervisor with all family/school events.
  • Monitors all aspects involved in implementing program components and communicates needs to Site Supervisor as they arise, including supply shortages, equipment repairs and/or replacement, changes in space availability, parents and teacher concerns, etc.
  • Ensures required program documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner (attendance, accident and behavior forms).
  • Supports with overall communication to school faculty, program staff, community partners and regarding after school program events, policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Site Supervisor in promoting overall Club membership and recruits after school program participants as enrollment

Skills and Knowledge


  • At least 3 months experience working with elementary students.
  • Capable of leading academic and enrichment activities of up to 15 participants.
  • Proven ability to direct staff and volunteers and provide support to the Site Supervisor.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to relate to and be approachable by students, parents, school faculty and program staff.
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and strong communication skills.
  • Energy, leadership skills, strong initiative, ability to motivate through positive reinforcement.
  • High school degree or equivalent highly preferred; high school senior with strong interest in education are invited to apply.
  • Must be 18 years of age.

Preferred Requirements

  • At least one year of experience working with elementary students.
  • Supporting in program planning and development.
  • Previous experience working with children in a group setting and from diverse backgrounds.
  • An individual who is seeking a degree in Education, Child Psychology, Human Development or Social Work.
  • Fluent in a second language.
