This position requires an experienced Aircraft Stress Analyst to use their technical experience to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex technical problems within the Advanced Development Programs (home of the Skunk Works®).
The candidate will be expected to define analysis plans and goals, assess analysis approaches and results, define any required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met. The candidate will provide status reports and report major findings to management and customers. The candidate will be capable of planning and initiating their own work, and collaborating with leads in the static strength assessment of primary and secondary aircraft structure. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or equivalent degree with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years professional experience with a related Masters degree.
- Experience with stress analysis by classical textbook methods
- Experience in developing, running, and working with Finite Element Models
- Understanding of drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes
- Active Department of Defense Secret clearance within 6 years of last investigation
- Experience using FEA tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, Altair Hypermesh, Abaqus
- Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structure
- Experience using LM Aero Common Analysis Tools including IDAT and SLIM
- Familiarity with CATIA V5 or Dassault 3DExperience
- Highly proficient in communication skills, with ability to compile and present material to customer; experience in a collaborative work environment and good interpersonal skills for conversing with teammates
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 6 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
