Responsibilities

  • Provide the client with skills and support to strengthen the client’s ability to complete treatment goals
  • Assist client with education to develop coping and problem-solving skills
  • Provide advocacy including collaborating with others to provide support
  • Help the client connect to other individuals and community resources
  • Identify strategies and services that help promote resiliency and develop natural supports
  • Establish and lead peer support groups
  • Help the client build relationships and encourage community-based activities
  • Coordinate intakes and discharges of clients in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Complete required supervision and attend assigned meetings and trainings

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have or have had a primary mental health diagnosis
    • We will consider applicants with various backgrounds, but are especially interested in neurodivergent adults who can support Autistic clients or clients with other neurodiverse diagnosis
  • Must be a current or former recipient of mental health services.
  • High school diploma, HSED, GED or equivalent required.
  • Must have successfully completed the Minnesota Department of Human Services approved Certified Peer Specialist training and certification examination or Fraser will support in obtaining this certification.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable record required.

Location and Schedule:

  • Community based in the Metro area (travel required)
  • Part-time and full-time opportunities available within standard business hours (8:00am-6:00pm)
