The Assistant Admissions Coordinator reports directly to the Admissions Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience in related health care environment in long term care or in acute care working with the geriatric population; nursing or social services background preferred.
- Excellent skills in public relations, communications, time management and organization required.
- Self-directed and motivated to perform job duties with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to serving the senior population in a progressive health care environment.
1. Preadmission Criteria – Paperwork, application, tour, medical and financial information and nursing report. Family notification and insurance reviews.
2. Communication – Maintaining open lines of communication with residents, families, referral sources, physicians, and staff. Quality Assurance monitoring and reporting accurately and timely.
3. At Time of Admission – Completing paperwork timely and accurately including but not limited to resident face sheet, admission agreement, admission paperwork, resident rights, insurance, living wills, and Power of Attorney. Notifying and emailing out admission information to interdisciplinary team.
4. Family/Resident Support – Meet with resident and families in regards to questions with admission paperwork, procedures, insurance, resident rights, and any other pertaining information.
5. Marketing – Participate in marketing meeting and advocacy groups with referral sources needed in the community.
6. Departmental Duties – Knowledge of insurances, medications, diagnosis, and regulations and making appropriate changes as needed. Understanding of financial and legal information related to admissions.
