Job description
Within the School of Education and Information Studies, serve as the administrative support person to assigned faculty members and graduate or undergraduate divisions/programs in the Department of Education. Primary duties include: assist the Division Heads/Program Heads with all administrative responsibilities related to course and curriculum coordination, administrative support for graduate or undergraduate program needs, divisional support and coordination to include course scheduling, admissions, and student exams. Independently coordinate faculty research and professional activities, including travel arrangements, reimbursements and purchase orders. Periodic event management and coordination for colloquia, campus meetings, and guest speakers. Dean's Suite office coverage on an as-needed basis. Advanced word processing of division/program materials, examinations, and other academic documents using Mac and PC computers and software.Percentage of Time:

Demonstrated experience with event management sufficient to manage all meeting logistics for executive level academic personnel for both small and large events up to 200 people.

Ability to identify confidential and sensitive information and handle with proper discretion.

Demonstrated advanced skill with Macintosh and PC computers and software including, but not limited to the latest version of Microsoft Word, FileMaker Pro, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrated organizational skills to plan and manage the production of brochures, course materials, and research proposals to meet fixed deadlines and adjust schedules to meet changing priorities.

Skill to read and understand proposals and scopes of work sufficient to notify faculty of established deadlines and itemize specific activities and requirements.

Knowledge of University policy and procedures as they relate to travel reimbursement, confidentiality of records, entertainment, check requests, low-value orders, and purchase orders.

Knowledge of electronic mail and networks, including Internet sufficient to retrieve/transmit information.

Working knowledge of the University's on-line accounts payable (PAC) system sufficient to process payments and reimbursements from initiation to completion.
