Job description

Northfield Mount Hermon School, an independent co-educational boarding school in Western Massachusetts, seeks a dynamic individual to teach intermediate Spanish. The world languages program strives to engage students in using language not only for self-expression and communication, but also for providing insight into the social patterns, value systems, traditions, and attitudes of Spanish-speaking people throughout the world. This position begins in January for the 2023 spring semester.

In addition to native or near-native fluency in Spanish, the successful applicant will have at least a bachelor’s degree in Spanish or related field, and experience teaching Spanish as a second language (preferably at the secondary level). Additional qualifications include strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Candidates are expected to have experience in equity and inclusion work that supports a diverse community in a boarding school environment. They should also have a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents.
