The Affordable Care Act Pricing Actuarial Team is looking for an early career Actuary to join our ranks in supporting rate setting, benefit pricing development, financial reporting and forecasting, and data analysis.Under direct guidance and supervision, an Actuarial Associate applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, and statistics along with general business principles in order to provide assistance and technical support for rating/pricing, valuation, healthcare economics, and/or financial reporting and forecasting. They work with a team of actuaries to assist with the actuarial components of health programs, providing actuarial support to Network Management, Underwriting, Sales and Marketing, Finance, and/or Healthcare.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations
Analyze financial, statistical and mathematical data and perform actuarial calculations
Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models and assist senior staff in building of rate studies, pricing tools, model enhancements, and financial reports
Complete procedural tasks accurately, identifying and resolving issues that arise
Manage own workload and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines
Perform effective peer reviews, identifying and communicating errors and risks
Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries as required
Remain in good standing in Actuarial Development Program and meet continuing education standards when required

Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
0-2 years of experience in related field; in lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience in related field
At least 1 exam completed towards the eventual attainment of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation
