P*OSITION SUMMARY: *

The Life Engagement Assistant leads out in scheduled activities programs for the residents, they are responsible for recording attendance to those activities and performs other duties as assigned by the Life Enrichment Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Leads out in resident scheduled activities in cooperation with appropriate resident support groups and Community departments.

2. Consults and works with other departments in implementing appropriate activities as they relate to the physical, emotional and social needs of the individual residents.

3. Coordinates scheduled resident activities and programs, which are sponsored by community groups.

4. Assists with Community volunteers.

5. Works closely with other departments to maximize level of functioning for facility residents.

6. Assists in maintaining appropriate records of resident socialization.

7. Prepares and distributes a monthly activity schedule.

8. Follows monthly calendar for scheduled activities.

9. Ensures activity areas are well maintained.

10. Assists with assessments, orientation, and marketing duties as requested.

11. Keeps supervisor informed of department needs.

12. Performs all other duties as assigned by any member of management.

3) Ability to recognize and communicate issues within department, staff and other residents.

4) Ability to relate to the public, resident, families, staff and other professional appropriately.

5) Ability to communicate well, verbally and written.

6) Ability to maintain accurate records.

7) Ability to adhere to and communicate facility policy and procedure.

8) Ability to work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job.

9) Looks for ways to improve skills of self and staff.

10) Ability to perform assigned tasks in neat, thorough and timely manner.

11) Maintain current Driver’s License.

T*RAINING AND EXPERIENCE: *

• Ability to work with the elderly population.

• Knowledge of regulations affecting resident activities.

• Ability to work with wide range of persons and needs.
