Job Description Summary
The PCS Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Director of Clinical Competency Center and the Simulation and SPatient Program Manager in the organizing and overseeing many of the day-to-day activities in the Simulation Center and Performance Exam Suite (PES). Responsibilities include but are not limited to training standardized patients and instruct the SP_CSE Program Educator. Help develop and track quality assurance measures, along with other designated responsibilities and assigned by the Director of the Clinical Competency Center (CCC) as needed.
Job Description
This position is located at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, the academic division of Campus and Community:
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Send Calendar Invites and maintain Faculty Tracking and report faculty availability for events.
- Manage Inventory and inventory spreadsheets and assist Director with ordering supplies.
- Assist with administering TB Skin Test and flu vaccines when necessary
- Assist with N95 fit testing for students and faculty.
- Oversee Exam Proctors and scheduling. Oversee Yearly Proctor meetings
- Run skills labs—including requesting any trainers needed from the warehouse and preparing all materials. Updating Event Planners in SharePoint and taking pictures of events and uploading.
- Participate in all SP trainings-Lead SIM trainings
- Develop rubric for upcoming SP checkoffs using scripts and then participate in check offs
- Participate in QI during encounters and correct SPs having issues
- Assist with SP yearly remediation.
- Assist with OPP Practical’s for OMS I AND OMS II
- Maintains CSE scheduling for select PES events.
- Organize and monitor CSEs during select PES events.
- Schedule, coordinate and educate CSEs during training events.
- Assist with set up for PES events such as PE Skills Labs, OSCEs, FOSCEs, IPEs, Small Groups, and TBLs.
- Assist and support SP/CSEs during select PES events.
- Provides assistance with retrieval of students from the waiting area during select PES events.
- Assists with computers and troubleshoot during SOAP note portion of select PES events
- Contributes to team effort by preforming other duties as needed/assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences and Director of Clinical Competency Center.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience Required
- Requires a minimum of three – five (3-5) years' experience working in a fast paced office or hospital setting
- Requires experience in scheduling in a healthcare-related facility
- Requires demonstrating high level of skills in email communications
- Requires knowledge of all Microsoft Office, including Outlook and 365 programs, and Adobe Acrobat
- Requires the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and perform assignments accurately
- Requires flexibility to work early/late for particular tasks and demonstrate ability to work in a team environment, yet work independently.
- Requires initiative and the able to handle confidential information with discretion in incumbent with applied state and federal laws.
Minimum Experience Preferred
- Preferred superior organizational skills with an ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail and an ability to interact diplomatically with a wide variety of constituents, and to work effectively as part of a team
Minimum Education Required
- Requires medical knowledge with a degree in the healthcare profession such as LPN

- Excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible mindset, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability and willingness to learn new software.
- This position requires excellent communication and ability to provide information in a timely manner.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Documentation and archiving skills required.
