Job description
Centuria has an immediate need for a full time Accounts Payable Specialist to provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This position performs the full life cycle accounts payable process from invoice data capture through payment processing, posting, and filing. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process all vendor invoices and payments using Deltek Costpoint accounting software
- Obtain required approvals from management and project management team
- Maintain detailed records and electronic filing systems
- Setup and maintain vendor records
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Support general ledger entries
- Review and process Expense Reports
- Reconcile corporate credit card expenses
- Monthly bank account reconciliation
- Process annual 1099 IRS reporting
- Research, analyze, and resolve payment and vendor issues
- Generate weekly and monthly reports
- Perform ad hoc research and analyses as requested by management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job/Skill Requirements:
- Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of coding invoices to the General Ledger.
- Experience in corporate environment.
- Experience working in the Federal contracting market preferred.
- Experience in Deltek Costpoint accounting software highly desired.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both verbal and written formats.
- Must be detail oriented and possess excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must be proactive and able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to perform work with minimum supervision, exercise sound judgment, and determine when to refer issues/problems to supervisor
Education Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
