Pure Prairie Farms is currently seeking a talented Accounting Team Member for our Charles City, IA location.

The Accounting AP/AR team members will be accountable for day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, statement reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy in the general ledger. You will also assist in the preparation of financial statements and information for tax accountants, as well as various other duties.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Performs Accounts Receivable functions including invoicing, manual check application, aging reports, and account reconciliation
• Enters routine journal entries and bank transactions
• Enters AP bills and credit card transactions if needed
• Performs month-end closing and reconciliation
• Reconciles, investigates, corrects, and adjusts accounting information
• Performs bank reconciliation
• Supports department peers as needed

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability in accounts payable and accounts receivable is a must. The right candidate will exhibit good business judgment and acumen and be both confident and flexible in their views. This position will require the ability to work with multiple departments to acquire operational knowledge and execute departmental initiatives. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills are a must.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is a plus
• 1-2 years of accrual basis accounting working experience including accounts receivable, journal entries, month-end closing and reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization
• Demonstrates ability to successfully plan, organize and manage projects
• Detail-oriented, excellent proofreading and editing skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, organized, able to prioritize and work independently
• Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
• Willing and able to work in an office environment located in a poultry manufacturing plant and wear appropriate PPE if entering areas which require it.
